The Pre-Travel Academy is specially designed for 2011 and 2012 players (U8s and U7s) who are more serious about soccer, that excel in their teams and need a more competitive and challenging environment to develop as young athletes. The Pre-Travel Academy is designed to provide a competitive atmosphere while furnishing the players with positive experiences to nurture their self-esteem, confidence and passion for the game.
CYA professional staff will apply age appropriate training curriculum focused primarily on foot skills, and the introduction of basic soccer concepts in order to offer highest development program for U8s and U7s.
CYA will form three Pre-Travel Academy pools, U8 Boys/ U8 Girls Full Academy (2011 Players), U7 Boys/ U7 Girls Full Academy (2012 Players), U7 Boys/ Girls Part Time Academy (2012 Players) for Fall 2018. The pools will train with CYA professional staff during the season.
The U7 and U8 Full Academy pools will train 2 x week and will play against other clubs Development League on Saturdays. The Schedule can be found (here - coming soon).
The U7 Part Time Academy pool will register with the CYA recreational program in addition to the Pre Travel program. The U7 Part Time Academy pool will train once a week with their Pre Travel pool and play 2 - 3 PTA games over the course of the season, Schedule can be found (here - coming soon).
Please note: The 2012 (U7 Part Time Academy) players must register for CYA Rec Soccer in order to participate in Pre Travel. The players will train and play games each week with their assigned rec team in addition to the Pre Travel Academy, unless less they register for the PTA Full Time Academy program (optional). Your Rec coach will contact you with the recreational practice schedule and Saturday game schedule shortly.
The Pre-Travel Academy pools will most likely comprise the base player pool for our CYA U9 and U10 travel teams for Fall 2019. We will be holding a Q & A mid season to talk about Travel Soccer and Tryouts.
